Hammond Suzuki OEM Leslie Horn

Horn rotor for vintage Leslie 122/147/251 and their family of speakers, models 760/770, 900/910/925 (and many others). Many Leslie horns have had their reflectors broken off by poor microphone placement or were purposefully removed. This dramatically changes the Leslie sound, resulting in a beaming effect of the high frequencies. While this is not unpleasant in some applications, it can sound harsh in more traditional playing situations. Will not work in 30/31 series Leslie speakers. NOTE: Shipping weight includes a special carton to protect the horn during transport; net weight is 7 ounces.

If you are replacing an existing horn the bearing (metal cylinder) can be removed by loosening the two screws on the top of the pulley. This bearing can then be installed on the new horn. If an existing bearing is not available, part number LES-SPDL will be required also.

TWG Leslie Bearing Set

Leslie bearings are packed in grease that dries out over time resulting in noisy operation; they should rotate smoothly without any noise. It is most likely the bearings in your Leslie are original equipment. Replacing them is a good maintenance procedure and will not be required again for many years. Squeaking, rattlling noises or a wobbling lower rotor are indications that the bearings or grommets have exceeded their useful life.

The small bearing replaces the upper rotor idler wheel bearing used to maintain tension on the horn drive belt. The two larger bearings replace the ones used in the lower rotor upper and lower mounting brackets. The lower rotor bearings include Trek II LBG-1 grommet inserts.
